You know what they say... breakfast sets you up for the day and they are probably right with that one. Here are some simple and tasty ways to start the day.

Breakfast smoothie


2 frozen chopped bananas (chopping up your bananas and freezing them is also a great way of not wasting bananas you know you can't get through)

1 cup of whatever milk you like to drink (here I think it was almond or coconut milk)

1 tablespoon of cacao powder

1 teaspoon of peanut butter

Basically put it all into a smoothie maker or food processor and blend it all up. You can get smoothie makers quite cheap nowadays and you don't need anything fancy.  Tastes amazing.

Chocolate Porridge

This makes enough for 1 big person

1 teaspoon of coconut oil

1 mashed banana

1/3 cup of oats

2/3 cup of water (or milk if you prefer)

Put all of this in a wee saucepan on a low heat  for about 5-10 mins then stir in 1 tablespoon of cacao powder and 1 teaspoon of peanut butter if you'd like it.  

Top with whatever you fancy, here there are cashew nuts, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds.
